Frequently asked questions

What is your return policy?

We hope you love your Wild Hatch West items as much as we love creating them. If something isn’t right, please reach out—we’re here to help.

Because each item is made especially for you, we’re unable to accept returns or exchanges for an incorrect size selection or a change of mind. Please review the sizing information before placing your order.

Inspect your order when it arrives and contact us promptly if an item is defective, damaged, or incorrect. Include your order number and clear photos so we can review the issue and help make it right.

For cancellation requests or questions about returns, exchanges, or damaged items, email hello@wildhatchwest.com. Please contact us as soon as possible to request a cancellation, as orders already in production may not be eligible.

Who should I contact about my order?

Please reach out through our Contact page if you have questions about a product, production timing, or an order you’ve received. If something arrives damaged or appears misprinted, include your order number and clear photos so we can help.

How should I care for printed apparel?

A little care helps keep your artwork looking its best:

Wash inside out in cold water with similar colors.

Use a gentle cycle and mild detergent.

Avoid bleach and fabric softener.

Air dry when possible, or tumble dry on low if the garment’s care instructions allow.

Do not iron directly over printed artwork.

Always follow the care label and product-specific instructions, especially for embroidered pieces, performance fabrics, and home goods.

How long does production and shipping take?

Production typically takes 1–3 business days before shipping, though timing varies by product and may take longer during busy holiday periods. This is the time needed to make your item; shipping transit time is additional. Please check individual product pages for any specific production estimates.

If your order includes several items, they may arrive in separate packages or on different days. Different products can be made by different production partners, so one piece may be ready before another.

Planning for a gift or special occasion? Allow extra time for production and delivery, especially around the holidays.

Why do you make products to order?

Making products as they’re ordered helps us limit excess inventory and reduce waste from unsold items. It also gives our small family business room to offer more original artwork, colors, and styles without producing large batches in advance.

Thank you for supporting a thoughtful approach to making—and a small Montana business.

How does our artwork come to life?

We use different production methods depending on the product, fabric, and design. Printed apparel may use Direct-to-Garment or Direct-to-Film printing, while embroidered items and all-over patterns use methods suited to those pieces.

Direct-to-Garment Printing — DTG

DTG printing applies ink directly onto the garment, then cures it to set the design. It captures detailed artwork and multiple colors, with a finish that can feel softer and more integrated into the fabric.

The final appearance depends on the garment’s color and material. The same artwork may look brighter on a white tee and more muted on a darker or textured sweatshirt.

Direct-to-Film Printing — DTF

DTF printing starts with artwork printed onto a special film, which is then transferred to the garment using heat and pressure. It produces crisp details and vibrant color with a flexible finish that sits on the fabric’s surface.

DTF prints may feel slightly more noticeable to the touch than DTG prints, particularly on larger areas of artwork.

Embroidery & All-Over Designs

Embroidered artwork is stitched with thread, giving designs texture and dimension. All-over printed products use production methods suited to their materials and construction, allowing patterns to extend across more of the piece.

Check each product description for details about its printing method, materials, and care.

Color & Placement

Product photos and mock-ups help show the design, but your finished piece may have slight differences in color, scale, or placement.

Screen settings, garment colors, fabric texture, and production methods can all affect how artwork appears. On patterned items, placement may also vary around seams and between sizes.

What are the shipping costs?

Shipping is $6.95. Orders over $100 ship free.
